Ground floor and Level 1 of Holy Saviour Primary School underwent a major strip out back to cold shell with extensive structural works following the removal of internal load-bearing walls. The project delivered significantly larger GLAs with increased natural light and numerous common learning areas. This project was completed in three main stages to allow classes to continue without interruption. Stage one demolition works were completed in the Autumn school holidays, and the school remained closed for an additional 2 weeks to allow for major structural reinforcement works to be undertaken safely. Classes were relocated to a combination of new and temporary spaces during stages 2 and 3 of the works. Coordinating the relocation of classes with the three stages of construction was integral to this project’s success as it segregated building works and ensured the continuity of learning.
